Alana Stimes
Executive Director of Minnesota Programs
Alana Stimes is first the Executive Director of Minnesota Programs, bringing over 15 years of experience in the national nonprofit sector. Throughout her career, she has led the development of innovative AmeriCorps State and National programs, built workforce development pipelines, and supported teams across the country in driving meaningful, measurable impact in communities.
In her current role, Alana oversees the leadership and operations of Ampact’s AmeriCorps programs in Minnesota, which include a team of approximately 150 staff supporting more than 2,000 AmeriCorps members across multiple evidence-based initiatives. She works closely with ServeMinnesota to implement its strategic vision and partners with its CEO and other key leaders to advance funding strategies that sustain and grow AmeriCorps programming statewide.
Alana’s commitment to public service began with her own AmeriCorps journey—serving three terms with AmeriCorps*VISTA—an experience that deeply shaped her professional path. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Affairs at the Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Her passion for workforce development has extended to her role as a certified instructor of the globally recognized Facilitating Career Development curriculum through the National Career Development Association. Alana has also contributed her leadership as a longtime volunteer and board member with the Fourth Generation Fund of The Minneapolis Foundation, among other organizations.
