Introducing Alana Stimes, Executive Director of Minnesota Programs
We’re proud to announce that Alana Stimes has been named Executive Director of Minnesota Programs! As both an AmeriCorps alum and 12-year employee of Ampact, Stimes steps into her new role with a strong commitment to national service, unique organizational knowledge, and tested experience driving meaningful impact.
Since joining the organization in 2013, Stimes has skillfully worn many hats – most recently, serving as interim executive director for Recovery Corps in Virginia. Whether supporting AmeriCorps members, developing and scaling programming, or building partnerships, she has played an essential part in growing Ampact’s impact throughout the years.
Prior to her time with Ampact, Stimes developed a strong background in non-profit leadership and workforce development through roles with AmeriCorps VISTA and RESOURCE, Inc.
Now as Executive Director, Stimes will oversee the leadership and operations of five Minnesota-based AmeriCorps programs: Reading Corps, Math Corps, Early Learning Corps, Heading Home Corps, and Recovery Corps. She’ll work closely with ServeMinnesota (the state’s service commission) to implement its strategic vision and advance strategies to grow programming statewide.
“For over 15 years, than a decade, I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of national service and how it can impact communities in incredible ways,” said Stimes. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to continue this meaningful work in a new role and am ready to bring our evidence-based programs to more areas of the state.”
Stimes received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota’s Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Outside of education and work, Stimes has also served as a longtime volunteer and board member with the Fourth Generation Fund of The Minneapolis Foundation, among other organizations.
